Coffee is my love language.
I fell in love with photography about 18 years ago at my uncles wedding. My fabulous Aunt is a photographer in Ohio and she let me steal her camera that weekend! It wasn't until I became a mother though that my desire to make my hobby into something so much more began to take root. Since 2007 my business has grown into something I love. It is a part of who I am and a part of me I love to share with others.
A Session With Me...
The thought of a portrait session may be a bit stressful, but I strive to give you a stress free environment that will capture the beauty of you and your family and loved ones. I have a classic and clean style of photography.
I LOVE color, I love patterns and I love to incorporate those things in my sessions. It is my goal for every session to highlight the individuals style, their personality, and who they are. If you have young kids, do not worry about keeping them still! I will run and play with them and have you interact with them to get some of the best genuine moments on camera. Be prepared for lots of hugs, kisses, laughs and silliness.
A Little More About me...
I am the mother of one beautiful girl, Emily. She is the light of my life. When I am not behind my camera you can usually find me with her, crafting, shopping, cuddled up on the couch watching movies with our Maltipoo Stella, writing, volunteering, or visiting Disney World!
In 2014, my daughter was diagnosed with severe Atopic Dermatitis and between learning to care for her, meeting others with genetic and chronic skin conditions, volunteering for A Children’s House For The Soul, a new passion began to grow. In 2018, I launched a project called That Orange Door. Through That Orange Door, I am using photography to educate the community on the different types skin conditions and the impact they have on the lives of those diagnosed as well as the ones who love and care for them. Using lifestyle portraits my goal is to share who each individual is beyond their skin condition. We are much more than our outward appearance and living in a world that is so focused on “beauty” can be a hard place to be for people like my daughter.
True beauty is not measured by the structure of our bones, the latest model on a magazine cover, how long our hair is, or how our skin may look to others. I hope that when my daughter looks in the mirror she sees who she TRULY is. A girl full of joy, compassion, a warrior, a true friend, a Zelda Master, a jokester, always kind to others, empathetic, and sincere. I hope she looks at her reflection and sees that the beauty she is, is not found in the approval of others, but it is found in the condition of her heart. That is the gift That Orange Door hopes to give to others.
You are altogether beautiful, my
darling; there is no flaw in you.
